Come and dance at the Fêtes des Rois BalFolk session in Weedon Village Hall. We’ll be dancing to a mix of French / European tunes played live by our musicians.

We will start off with a mini dance workshop led by Sheila Cox, before continuing with live music and dance for the rest of the afternoon. The music will be split into two halves: the first half is a session that all musicians are welcome to join. In the second half, Duo Vivant will be delighting us with modern and traditional French tunes for dancing.

Mark Prescott and Clive Williams, Vivant, play violin and melodeon music for dancing – they have been playing together for over 25 years as a duo. They’ve played at Gennetines festival with GIG CB! and Mark has played there and across Europe with highly successful collaborations with Mike Gulston as Deux Sans Frontières and with Philippe Plard regularly as a duo, in trio, quartet and in recent CD recordings. Vivant like to play music they’ve heard along the way, so you’ll hear modern compositions from composers such as Stephane Delicq, Eric These, and Toon Van Mierlo alongside traditional French dance classics. Music for dancing.

Please bring a plate of food for a shared meal. Drinks will be available to purchase.

The cost of the event is £5 per person. Children under 16 go free.
