Singing Stones are one of nature’s curiosities. These musical rocks are formed from molten lava that is subject to stresses and strains as it cools. The internal tension increases the rocks’ ability to transmit vibrations - music! The dancing rhythm of the mosaic pattern teamed with the multi-coloured marled yarn makes me think of music, hence, Singing Stones. These fingerless mittens have been designed to work with our magically marled Chimera yarn and a complementing solid. The mosaic pattern is charted and very simple to follow. The colourwork is created by slipping stitches. The Stormy Rainbow Crochet Blanket was designed by Fay Dashper-Hughes after doing one of our rainbow mini skein dyeing workshops. We have put together a mini skein kit that closely mirrors the dyed skeins of Fay's original. It is made using the intarsia crochet method and just one simple stitch. Easy row repeats make it a great first intarsia project. There is a sister knit design called Scottish Rainbow, which uses a different colour scheme, so we have added that option here too. We have also chosen some Chimera colours for a super luxe version! That brings the colourway options to 3 in total, and they all work with both the knit and the crochet pattern. The kit comes with the printed pattern and a digital download and an optional 3 skeins of the background colour in our signature Nene 4 Ply.Pattern & Yarn Kit Contents1 copy of the Stormy Rainbow crochet pattern, printed in high quality colour on carbon neutral paper1 PDF pattern download12 mini skeins of Nene 4 Ply in a "stormy" or "Scottish" rainbow or 6 skeins of Chimera in a fade3 skeins of Nene 4 Ply for the background colour (optional)

The Scottish Rainbow Blanket was inspired by the colours of Scotland and designed by Fay Dashper-Hughes. It is made using the intarsia knitting method and it's all done in garter stitch to make a squidgy, warm blanket. It's Showtime! This year's limited edition festive yarn is inspired by that great British Christmas tradition of going to the Pantomime - oh yes it is! It has been so much fun creating this set. If you look closely, you will see each mini shares some colours with its neighbours, so it works nicely as a gradient. We didn't stop with these fabulous magically marled Chimera minis... (oh no we didn't!) We also have 2 patterns to go with it: the Showtime Cowl in knit or crochet. All credit due to Fay Dashper-Hughes for the crochet version.

Craft Town is a stranded colourwork shawl with a statement fringe designed by Becci Pamely-Bast to celebrate the 15th year of the Unravel Festival in Farnham Maltings. She took her inspiration from the architecture in Farnham, which is England's first World Craft Town and therefore an appropriate home for a yarn festival. There are many variations of the herringbone pattern that feature in brickwork, tiles, parquet flooring, and now in this shawl. The stranded knitting makes the fabric super warm and cosy. The techniques used in this shawl include knitting in the round, 2-colour stranded knitting, and steeking. There is a detailed steeking tutorial included in the pattern.

The Tenement Cowl was designed by Fay Dashper-Hughes who was inspired by the bright contrast colours and brick bond pattern of Victorian tiles.Tiles were laid in communal stairwells of tenement buildings in cities such as Glasgow in Scotland. The patterns often had stripes of contrast colours and helped to brighten up the otherwise dreary flights of stairs. The cowl is worked flat in rows, and sewn together after blocking to create a cowl. Yarns are carried up the side, so there are only four ends to weave in. Instructions are written using UK crochet terms.

Positivity Spiral is a very versatile cowl designed by Fay Dashper-Hughes. Worked in the round, it makes use of filet crochet to add a lacelike spiralled pattern, paired with Herringbone trebles which naturally want to lie to the left, adding to the spiral effect.Herringbone trebles create a flattened fabric that have beautiful drape. The simplicity of the stitch and lace section also means it looks great in most yarn weights and still remains a one-skein project. This kit is for the 4ply / heavy 4ply weight version, shown in the photo. Based on a simple 16-stitch, 8-round repeat, this is a great project to pick up and put down and looks far more complicated than it actually is. Instructions are written using UK crochet terms.
