  • We created this colourway partly out of longing for summer after the rather wet and cold spring of 2021, and partly due to the kids bringing that oh-so-annoying phrase out of hibernation since we’ve been coming out of lockdown and travelling further afield! This colourway is moderately variegated and that makes it a lot of fun to work with because almost every stitch is a different colour. Textured patterns will show up in this yarn, alternatively, use it for something simple and let the colours do the work!

This comes mostly from a flock of Shetlands in Braunston (with additions from neighbouring flocks); a major canal destination that can be reached by boat from our studio in one day! Flock owners Lynne and David have been breeding Shetland sheep for 16 years, focusing specifically on the quality of the wool, which is incredibly soft. The yarn has a heathered appearance, as many different coloured fleeces have gone into this delightfully local spin.

This comes from a single flock of Leicester Longwool sheep in Astcote, just down the A5 from our Weedon Bec studio. • Baa Brown – Severn 4 Ply 50g

    £9.00
Fibre Content: 100% British Jacob wool
    Specification: 4 Ply / Fingering weight - 175m / 50g
    Fibre: Sourced from Worcestershire, UK
Processing: Spun in Ceridigion, Wales, dyed in the UK
Recommended needle & hook size: 2.5mm - 3.75mm (always check the pattern)

This is a light and airy woollen-spun and plied yarn from a single farm in Worcestershire. Jacob sheep are one of the oldest native breeds in the UK. They are striking in their appearance, with white and brown fleeces and multiple horns! We sorted the fleeces by hand, separating the white from the brown. We have natural and dyed shades available. The wool is hardwearing and makes lightweight, warm garments that soften beautifully with age. Use it for hats, mittens, jumpers, and house socks and slippers. The yarn is made up of 2 plies, which lends itself well to lace patterns and stranded colourwork. This yarn hasn’t been superwash-treated, so it will felt if you want it to. This also makes it an excellent candidate for steeking, if you’re brave enough!

  • Haul Away – Severn 4 Ply 50g

  • Hocus Crocus – Nene 4 Ply 100g

    £22.00
Who doesn't love spring? All the colours of fresh new leaves and blooms can be found in this colourway. Becci wrote a blog post about it here. The yarn is gently variegated and that makes it a lot of fun to work with because every stitch is different. The colours blend beautifully in the finished project as you can see in the knit and crochet samples. You can use this for textured as well as simple patterns.

  • Honey Sunrise – Nene 4 Ply 100g

    £22.00
One of those magical, otherworldly sunrises inspired this colourway. Honey coloured autumn leaves were hanging over the canalside and the pink, violet, and blue sky was reflected in the water. Stunning. The yarn is gently variegated and that makes it a lot of fun to work with because every stitch is different. The colours blend beautifully in the finished project as you can see in the knit and crochet samples. You can use this for textured as well as simple patterns.
